New to the area and was wondering the best spot for flounger gigging? Also, where would be the best spot for flounder fishing?
Wando river.
florida.

Fish are too valuable to be caught only once.
Take your lights and pole slowly along the banks of any sandy/live shell bottom on an incoming tide with low wind so the water won’t be muddy and you can see. There is no “best spot”, fish move.

Even if anyone had a best spot, which they all do, they arn’t going to tell you about it. If it was posted here, the next time they went there, it would be covered up with boats bumping into each other! Hell, most of these guys won’t tell their best friend, where their secret spot is!
I’d probably start in salt water…
in florida.

people will tell you general info. like any place with a sandbar of consideralbe size is a good place to start. i heard the folly rivre was good because it has alot of sandbars. i always thought the ICW would be great because of all the mudflats… just gotta poke around and try it out. people arent gonna tell you.
There is no greater fan of fly fishing than the mud minnow.
Go to the ICW and fish the tide all the way to the grass.

Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

Just west of the continental divide everyone limits out.
I always like to gig them across the eyes.
