Can some one tell me the best to get to Mcclellanville to get the freshest shrimp. I would imagine the shrimp boats head in a high tide. Would after high tide be the best time? Or doesn’t it matter.
You shrimpers are hard workers. I can throw the net a few times but I guess I’m just getting to old for hard core shrimping. I watch you guys while I fish and it looks like a lot of work.
Going to just buy shrimp and concentrate on catching those Red Fish and such.
Just call before you go. Tide will not influence whether they have fresh shrimp. They actually have a very large cooler to keep the shrimp in .
I could be mistaken but I believe they usually have more or larger I should say after a full moon, the flood tide and all that.

Like flyinghigh said, call before you go, Carolina Seafood. They only sell in 50 lb boxes iced down. They will stay in those quite awhile and keep fresh, but they drain out form the corners so you need a pickup to carry them like that. Otherwise, you could take a large cooler to put them in if you were in a van or other inclosed vehicle.

Right now both markets have 16/20 head on 50lb minimum box for $4.00lb give or take a few quarters. Bulls Bay seafood will sell bulk tails only 30lb minimum for about $7.50lb call to verify prices
Hey thanks for the information. Did not know a lot of the info. I’m going to have to find some shrimp lovers who want to split a box.
Easiest shrimp you ever caught and they aren’t full of fish meal. Win, win!
