I think Blue’s House of Wings in Mt. Pleasant (especially the hwy 41 location) fits that bill for me. They fry, sauce, then grill to finish them off.

Finz in Mt Pleasant are my favorite. They lightly smoke them, then fry and toss in sauce. Big big wings, but not over powered with smoke flavor. Tuesday nights wings are .35 each.
