Better late than never

Caught a total of five not even targeting them. Casting rattle traps. One on a finger mullet.

Congrats…I still have to make a trip to the salt to just to say I have got 1 from the salt.

Where at?

17ft Scout
90 yamaha

Tail race canal

Apparently you can’t target them until 30th of September

All where 22-23"

Not being disrespectful to you, but those are some awful looking fish. They would probably eat anything thrown in their direction. Still fun though.

They looked pretty healthy to me

There’s always got to be a critic.

Not a critic they are just very skinny fish, just lack of prey. Part of the reason they are closed in the tailrace, is because of their poor health in the summer months, and therefore less chance of survival after being caught.

I just guessed the salt because of the use of finger mullet…lol…that’s what I get for guessing…

Have caught lots of mullet up in the lakes (Santee), They live well in fresh water!

Yea we netted a few in front of Pimlico

Was not aware of the bad health of the fish. I’ve only ever call Shriever in the Chesapeake Bay so that’s the only striper I have to compare. Thank you for the information. I didn’t mean to come across as brash there’s just a lot of critics on the site.

Sounds like a fun day. Thanks for the report.

Here’s a free site that will let you easily rotate your pics if they don’t show up right.
