What a great day of fishing we had again today! The morning starts out with Cap’n Jesse saying something from the bridge like, “Here they are! A whole pack of them, they are everywhere!!! Get ready!” Then a sail comes up on the long rigger and Doc get’s to the rod and get’s him hooked up. We get a second one hooked but didn’t get any bites out of the others. After a few minutes, we release our first two sails for the day. An hour or so later a blue comes up on the short rigger and is behind the boat for an eternity. I think he checked out every bait in our spread and was probably back there for a few minutes. He decides he is not hungry and eventually fades out into the abyss. With the sea the way it was and the sunlight, you could see the fish so clearly that you could see his tail wiggling, his dorsal, etc. Wish we had him take a fish, but an awesome sight regardless.
We play the waiting game again and then some excitement starts again. Short right! Short right! A pair of whites comes in, but only one taker. Our third release of the day!
Some more time goes by and more excitement! Right long! Right long, as a white comes up on our rigger bait. We get a hook in that one too and get a nice release on him. What an awesome day of fishing again. 2 whites and 2 sails and got to see another blue. So close to a back to back grand slam… Hopefully we will be as lucky tomorrow!
Until then… See you next time, right here on this same channel…
