anyone seen any yet at the nearshores or inshore??? trying to catch a big one this year, I missed my window last year
not sure by what you consider big but we caught some saturday at lowcountry that were a couple of pounds
Like #6 + approaching 30”
I’ve never caught one over a couple pounds this far south.
I am fragile.
Not like a flower.
But like a bomb.
the big post-spawn fish should be skinny and moving north along the coast now or very soon, we hoped/expected to see some but never came across them at 4ki on saturday
hey saltfisher, how 'bout those hoss weakfish around right now!?

I have seen big schools of large , skinny bluefish along the first rip after 150’ - riding the current north bound
natureboy,
I guess could be a year when they dont stop in which happens periodically. will have to wait and see. got a good bit of S/SE flow coming the next few days maybe that will push the warm water and the blues in a bit.
usually the ones offshore in April are severely emaciated and are in the 15 - 20 range. I have always tried to steer clear of them because they slice right through floro leaders and they can absolutely destroy a dredge loaded with plastics
