big boy

Pacing around right now… put an arrow through probably my biggest buck at 8 am. saw 4 bucks this morning. they were chasing and grunting as soon as i got in stand. 2 smaller bucks were all over me. then about 745 heard a louder grunt and saw big bodied buck chasing doe. she brought past me about 25yds but he wasnt stopping. 15 mins later she came right up to me and big boy followed. he stopped and looked right up at me at 15yds, thought he was gonna bolt. i was already at full draw. he turned and went towards the doe. he stopped broadside for a moment and shot. he musta stepped when i shot cause it looked like i hit him far back. he ran off bout 40yds then walked away. good blood on arrow but thinl i should give him at least 3 hrs before tracking. hoping he is layed up…

Let him lay. not a bad idea to bring a shotgun with you.

he dead ! waited til 11:15, then went lookin for him. he didn’t go 60 yards. looks like he dropped right past were i saw him last. shot was not quite as far back as i thought, bout dead center on his right side. musta went to walk off as i shot. glad he stopped for the brief moment for a shot opportunity. definitely the biggest buck i’ve ever killed. i’d like to give that little 50lb doe a big kiss for bringing him to me! 185lbs live weight, 16" inside spread, approx. 16pts. Groom’s processing said he had lost a bit of weight from the rut and he was the biggest non-typical rack he’d seen(find that hard to believe:question:). dropped the cape off at Pernell’s, they seem like some real nice people there. trying to post pics, something ain’t working right.

i’ve made some good shots and some bad shots, but the old 3 blade muzzy seems to be working for me  not much for tine length, but dang he’s got some mass.

WOW, what a buck! Good for you!

I’d be smiling ear to ear:smiley:!

Yup, probably will never kill one more mature/gnarly than this one. This arrow was camo.

Awesome buck! Good job! Miss Sis told me about that buck when I was dropping off around 1500.
Way to go!!

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Nice deer man! What a rush to kill one like that with a bow.
