Big clams, help

Hey everyone, found a spot with a good many large clams…haven’t picked any but surely I can get enough for a meal once I have a good recipe in hand…any recommendations on how to fix them? I’m thinking chowder? Not familiar with clams except for steaming but thinking these guys are too big…thx for any input!

Some people fry them whole or in strips, or chowder. You can also cut off the meatier pieces and clean out the guts and make some linguini or fettuccini. If you cook whole the belly/guts is a bit much for the less adventures eater.

Got it, thx!

I’d be careful with any shellfish after the hurricane. There is sewage and nasty stuff in the rivers right now. Check for shellfish bed closures with DHEC.

If these are large as you say I would dice them for chowder!
