I know diddly squat about inshore fishing. So I got my right hand man, 40inchreds on the boat and a long time friend and his nephew to make the ride from Gilbert down with me. Had high hopes for trout and sheeps, maybe a red but it wasn’t to be. Put in @ Wapoo @ 8:20am and started fishing shortly after. Fished a spot near the landing, fished the bridge near the marina, fished fort Sumter and a few other spots. Only provided a short trout and small bsb. We had mud minnows and clams/mussels for bait as well as oysters for chum. Checked the nearshore Buoy and decided it looked calm enough to enjoy a little Nearshore reef action. First barge provided plenty BSB, a weakfish, and a whiting. Went to the concrete and found nothing worth fishing. Went to the second barge and caught probably 30+ weakfish and the oyster toad. Everyone else was fishing mud minnows and I had rigged up a chicken rig with a ZMAN slim swimz and a ZMAN trout trick. The combo was money as it slayed good 15-18” weakfish. Finished the day trying another red/trout hole and back on the bridge for the outgoing tide and never found the sheeps, trout or reds. Good learning day and hoping for better luck next time. So far I’m loving the new BX22BR. So far haven’t missed the Gamefish a bit, it’s only been 1 week however.
