Big Fat Trout

Got out early Saturday morning and it was chilllly. Got to Clouter Creek on the out going tide and it was rippin. Barely could control the boat with my 80lb thrust trolling motor so I drifted with the current and used the motor to keep me near a comfortable casting range. 45 min into steadily casting SLAMMMMM. Fought for a while trying to keep this 21" 2.5lb trout out of all that structure in the area and managed to het him in some open water and struggled but managed to get the big boy in the net.Rippin current and shaking madly trout is not a good combination. Caught a few reds 27"-32" and kept a few 17" trouts. What a day!

Hope I done the photos correctly.

Nice job! That trout looks like he aint starving!:sunglasses:

Very nice! The reds are always my favorite. I love to cook some trout, but just to catch and release an overslot red is awesome.

Good stuff, Fatrat. Were you fishing live bait or artificials?

Awesome job! Like BB asked, what did they like? Of course last Saturday, what DIDN’T they like once you found them!

Black Bart and Vinman I was pitching 6" ringer worm (Salt and pepper) dipped with a chartrusse tail. The reds and the trouts were slamming that worm.
