Big Grouper on the Plum Crazy Deep dive report

Headed out on the Plum Crazy for a little trolling, Diving, and Bottom fishing. Trolling wasn’t doing much so Capt plum opted to hit the bottom fish. Pulled up to a deep wreck and plum caught a nice scamp right off the bat then a couple triggers and red porgies. When i dove the wreck there were big gag grouper all over it. The bigger one kicked my ass pretty good. Had to get chest deep up in a hole with my knife trying to finish him, My hands look like hamburger today. Vis was about 40’ and the water was comfortable with a 3mm and hood in the deep water.

Moved inshore to 100’ and caught more triggers. Diving that spot the water seemed much colder. Lots of RED SNAPPER, probably saw 20 or so. Got a couple lobsters, Tautog, and one red snap. vis was about 30’ and was chilly in a 3mm.

Good to get back out diving and fishing. Been working way too much lately. Thanks for a great trip Capt Plum.

It turned out to be a Great Day! When we left the dock starboard motor would not gas up, after draining the fuel bowls on the filter several times and dumping the filter on the motor several times, off we went. ■■■■ E-10! Bumpy ride out, but laid down as the day went on. Trolling bite was real slow, (I was very surprised after the day we had two weeks earlier. 29 block heads) Rob I took my father out Sunday, only about 25 miles out. Caught BSB, pinkys, and vermillion. He had a ball. When we were heading in about 2:30 the ocean BLEW UP. Took it on the chin for about 12 miles. 3-4. All in all a great weekend. Ready for another combo trip. Next time Nisson will bring the CREW!

Does Mr. Williams still own plumb crazy?

I don’t know who Mr. Williams is. This is the PLUM CRAZY. I think you are refering to a different boat.

PLUM CRAZY

Those really are nice, but isn’t it a bit risky to dive and fish at the same spot?

GW 232 GULF Yam225

10-4 the PLUM CRAZY I am thinking about is a 48’ Hatteras owned by Grady Williams. Sorry for the confusion.

Not as risk as crawling into a cave with a knife to bring out an injured grouper in 130 plus feet of water.

Behind this helm stands a sickness that not even a women can cure.

I think its time you take the girls back out in the bikinis

libra

Thats what Im talking about.

Lets cross some Eyes.

I’m starting to think you guys don’t click my reports to see the fish.

Plum, I’ll bring some crew next time. Nissen has a fight coming up and probably wont fish for a while.

Plum,

Dickie, Paco, Vaughan, and I are heading to Islamorada this weekend to do some diving/fishing/relaxing. When we get back we want to hook up with you and Rob out of Gtown and stick some fish!! DK has already talked to Rob about it.

Biggest Hog Snapper I have ever seen came into Belle Isle this past Saturday with some of his relatives including a MONSTER lobster.

Glad to hear your Dad made it out there… Hope to see you tonight at the meeting!! Tell Pops the Florence crowd said hello.
