Never know whether these should go inshore or offshore. Had this guy show up while tarpon fishing in St. Helena. Hit a big menhaden on the bottom. Thought it was a shark at first but fought too hard and too long. 40 minutes on big spinning rod with 30# braid. Day maker for sure. Can’t even remember the last time I caught one, and never this big. Around 28# based on length. No tarpon action.

looks like a blast to fight… glad to see them around a little more…
Had few that size off pier earlier in summer. They are a blast to fight that’s for sure. Great catch!
Nice fish! Probably the most underrated fish out there!

Used to see them close to the pole that marked the legal shrimping line in Ashepoo close to Otter Island, but not this big
You can’t catch fish on a dry line
Got some studs last year right off of MI. Love to see them in the mix.
We saw a school of about 20 in the Wando river right across from Remleys, was kinda hard to believe they would be in the river, but was a bunch of them just trolling around.
I caught a big one in the harbor one morning on top water back in the mid 90’s. Light tackle. Took an hour to get in. Those days are over.
Gorgeous fish

never caught a jack like that but if its anything like a giant trevally thats one heck of a fight good job!
I saw two fisherman in a flats boat fighting something strong in the intra coastal waterway Friday. They had quite an entourage of boats watching and were chasing it all over the ditch. Every now and then the float would be visible then it would take off on another blistering run. I watched for about 10 minutes, then ambled on. I assumed it was a big jack.
