Are off the front of Dewees/Capers/Bulls Island in pretty good numbers. No real tight schools of them but they have been fairly thick the past few days.

Thanks for the info Capt.
Thanks Fritz, been wondering when big bait was gonna finally show, even the pinfsh have been small.
Isle of Palms as well as just about every barrier Island now probably
Out of curiosity when was the last time you threw a net for bait off the beaches? It’s been a tough summer for finding the big ones. Peanuts are in front of Morris as usual but the bait has been scattered this season. I blame the rain but what do I know. I’ve only been out there 75 of the last 80 days.

Fritz its been about 17 years. I can’t throw them from the beach to where they were yesterday off IOP it was a couple of hundred yards and I will admit that I can’t throw anything a couple of hundred yards. I did feel a couple of them run into me while helping my son surf and treading water in about 5 feet of water. Last time I did so from a boat in front of the beach was September of last year. I may come out of fishing retirement next week though
Ok, Great. This was a menhaden report the day before a Kingfishing Tourney took place. The bait has been scattered and tough to find. I had no less then 5 people call me looking for bait last week so I figured others were interested in the info as well. Sorry I gave a bait report and it upset you enough to make a smartass reply about it being everywhere. And people wonder why nobody puts up reports anymore. If you make a bait report someones knickers get in a wad, hold a tarpon out of the water, someone else has issues with that. Hold a redfish vertically and hear the screams…It’s a shame honestly.

I appreciated the bait report as well. A few more over the next couple of weeks would be appreciated.

Fritz you have said you fair share of controversial things on this site over the years; however, I have to say I agree 100% with everything you have said here. The bait report is much appreciated as I have had a tough time locating big Haden this year and have resorted to the sabiki more time than not which is not always convenient. Furthermore the experts on fish handling need to get off their computer and go fish and participate on this site with some reports as opposed to sitting around playing arm chair quarterbacks all the times. Thanks for your beneficial reports recently and nice poone by the way!
Fritz your bait report did not upset me. I was just commenting that they seem to be everywhere now. A few weeks ago I hadn’t seen any. Now I am seeing them everywhere
Fritz, thank you for your bait report, we placed in the aforementioned king tournament and your information was helpful

Bait is everywhere until you fish a king tourney. Then it takes three hours to find…would love some intel on Aug. 16th!
