Nice fish but isn’t it a little large for a boga stick weight measurement. I keep a cloth shopping bag in the boat for my bulls when I weigh them. Just a thought.

I’d venture to guess a cloth bag (wet or dry) would do more harm to a bull red’s slime layer than the Boga grip would do to its jaw. Just sayin’…

Holding a big fish like that, by the lip only, causes pull on the innards that the fish is not normally accustomed to. Either the bag trick or just holding the fish horizontally and guessing the weight, would be good ways to prevent any internal damage to the fish. Just sayin'.....

Yes, it was a bit large for my Boga Grip. Boga bottomed out around 30 lbs. I just used the boga to keep from handling the fish too much with my hands.
