I heard a big one was caught near the Little Gap last week on cut bait by a lady angler and released. I’m afraid something was lost in the retelling of the story so I hesitate to say the size I was told. But let’s just say it would be the lake record. (44lbs is the record, correct?) Anyone here of this? If so, what was the number you heard? I’d love to see a picture of that monster. If nothing else, for motivation. I only caught shorts near the Big Gap in 35’-50’ of water on downrods 15’ off bottom.
Big fish have been caught in the little gap around where the power lines cross, even in August. There are trees in the channel and water is 80’+ deep. A 33lbr was released at Dreher Island in March and is probably still is in the vicinity.
Lake record is 46-10 caught by Don Eggleston in the 90’s… I think.
