big reds today

Took today off , well after my 10 conf call, anyway put in at Copahee and paddled out to the flats on the intercoastal for the high tide and found many many many big tailers, if you remeber the pastor in caddy shack playing his best round in the storm thats what I felt like battling the rain and wind. Caught 4 nice reds on spinning gear , of course the first time I left the fly rods home in along while , tails coming up within 20ft of me , finally couldnt take the weather anymore and headed home left them waving goodbye to me, wind was so high I am seriously considering getting a rudder

congrats scott sounds like a great day wish i could be out there got to work till saturday but plan for copahee on sunday

Scott - do you cast your fly out of the yak or get out and wade??? Were the reds in the grass or just an open flat - have not been to Copahee except from the water side in a power boat - need to catch up with ya’ll one day out there…

Well lets see, left the fly rod at home and used the spinning gear, must of had the killer float with ya?
Scot, get a rudder, you’ll be glad you did!

I cast mainly sitting down, if I find a flat with a hard bottom I get out and wade, these reds were in the grass (short grass)

Mud- caught them on a DOA grub (avacado red flake) rigged on a weedless 1/0 worm hook no weight my son will not give me the magic float back

where the heck did you get those grubs.ive been lookin for those.friend in fla is doing real well with those.

Nice job Scot. What was the tide level when you were out there ?

I am not sure locally where you can get them , you can order directly from DOA , I have a bunch left over from when I moved from Florida
