Ok here’s the story which is a little different than I had thought at first…The fish has been DQ’d because the mate didn’t have a valid saltwater fishing license. The owner asked him and he said he did in fact. When they weighed the fish they found the truth, he purchased one via computer at 5 that afternoon when they got back to the dock with slobo marlin but it was too late! First place will be “Carnivore” with a 528 which is now worth just shy of a million bucks.

I fish on the “Rameseas”. We had a blue bite the first day but pulled her off, saw another blue and a sail free swimming, and had a nice bite the last day of the tournament. That was it for us. We pleasure fished one day and spent a little bit of time bailing dolphins for long enough to feed everyone and give them a good time. The bailers up that way are thicker than I have seen them anywhere I have ever fished it was pretty cool!

I heard the mate didn’t have a saltwater license for NC waters… I figured he was from out of state…not sure but it sucks to be him! Also heard the payout was gonna be 1.2 mil. Can anyone confirm either of these rumors?
The mate DID not have a license for NC waters i know that through a friend that talked with the captain of the boat. Can’t confirm anyhing else yet. But on another thought does anyone besides me notice a mutilated fish (missing left peck. fin) in this pict? This was my shot from them weighing in and it stuck out as obvious to me…

That’s rich…dry a big breeder out for $918K and lose the purse because a crewmember forgot to buy a NC fishing license.
Another reason to end kill tournaments. That’s a huge waste of resources-both on the part of the boat owner and the fish.

if the mate forgot to buy a fishing licence there is no telling what else he forgot to do. if i did that i would not have a job, it is the mates responsibility along with the cap to check EVERYTHING not once not twice but atleast three times. everything should be perfect because that is your job. mates a f**king idiot. if you dont like what i said then keep your mouth shut.
