Ya it was cold , a very thick fog just off the water from the warm water above the air temp made it look really cool, like fishing on a rock and roll stage. I’m sure there are bigger ones out there but this is a personal best for me.

Great Picture ! Nice Fish ! Been fishing out there and have never caught a striper at night. I can wear them out in the daytime…just never can catch em at night. Were you trolling ? What Lure ? Live Bait ?

NICE!! Picture taken at the fish cleaning shed at S.Stay??
ANY CHANCE they’ll open to civys this year??

Awesome fish Rick!!!
Not that it matters, but I am very proud!!
Almost as big as the one I caught a couple of years ago!!:wink:

Did you enter it into the Trident? I should have entered mine, but…
You would probably win it around here with a striper like that since they are few and far between…

I feel that there are some real nice ones out there! It’s just a matter of getting through all the nice “short” ones!!

Steelytom
thanks for posting the pic , didn’t happen without that.
Trolling at night is something lynn showed me a fews yrs ago.
sometimes very productive sometimes not. he has switch to pitching jigs alot this yr i think also very productive. Since the limit size increased its been alot of catching and not much keeping.
TO: lynn i thought you told me that fish you caught was 36" mine was 37" Just sayin  As for the contest no i didn’t even know about that . doesn’t matter i just go for the adventure and a few Striper on the grill.
also on a side note some people must be paying attention cause it was getting crowded on weekend nights out there, not so much since its gotten cold but should be as the fishing has gotten really good. When we started never saw another boat trolling. Good luck all and try to top this one.

Rick,
The one I caught that night was real close to 38". The one that I caught the night before was close to 36". I’m sure you will catch a 42" one here soon! I think you just need to bring the big boat out to the lake!! ha

LOL ya a bigger boat thats the key to big fish LOL! 35’ contender in the lake.
No more out of place than your key west at the GT hole i suppose. I say that with the utmost admiration LOL
I’m gonna try again this weekend for sure got something to shoot for.
Oh i forgot to mention i caught a big catfish trolling thought i had
the world record striper for awhile. First time that has happened , pretty cool how hard they hit when on the troll.
You know what would be cool! night time tournement amongst friends and challengers . Friendly entry pool Pay three places! Have a ball manuevering around each other for that allusive 40" fish.
Anybody out there up for it?

Very nice fish Rick. I’ll be getting ready the striper gear soon as goat season is over. I’m still looking for a freshwater striper that size, I’ve yet to find one over 30". Good going!
