Fished straight out Monday. Passed a lot of boats that decided against the head on waves. 1 mile out it calmed down to real manageable head seas with the 12"x18" Lenco’s stuffed doing about 18 to 20 kts. Lines in at 7:30. Perfect trolling seas and laid down by 9am. Found a nice rip with a 2-3 deg. break. Stayed on it all day. Covered up with constant action till 2pm. The fleet was starting to close in on us by about 2pm and the fish boxes were close to being full so we decided to follow the rip south and get away from the crowd. Nothing for 30 min. when 2 lines get nailed. The way back and the outrigger started screaming as line is pouring out of both. The way back didn’t slow down till it had about 300 yards of line out. Back at the boat it was a daymaker or daytopperoffer 67lb Wahoo, hit a purple and black skirted Ballyhoo. The only thing we saw on other line was a dolphin jump when all of the sudden we saw a fin come up right behind it. We managed to get the Dolphin in the boat and didn’t see what was chasing it. The dolphin did look like someone had just beat him with a bat, or a bill:wink:. Great following seas for an easy ride home. Total for the day was 18 dolphin and a 67lb Wahoo.
