last friday we caught the biggest tiger that we have ever seen…
conservative estimate is 15 foot. took just about an hour to get it
to the surface for identification… 20 pound equipment so we took it
easy…
i think it just came up for a look as it never seemed to get in a hurry… horseshoe area off g’town.
Biggest tiger shark
On June 14, 1964, Walter Maxwell made one of the most incredible catches of all time. He was fishing from the Cherry Grove pier near Myrtle Beach, S.C., when he landed the current world-record tiger shark, which weighed a tremendous 1,780 pounds. Using a 16/0 reel that held 1,400 yards of 130- pound test line, he managed to land the 13-foot, 11-inch fish after just 4-1/2 hours.
Congrats…you released the new world record Tiger shark!

“Back home we got a taxidermy man. He gonna have a heart attack when he see what I brung him”
given the info from sellsfish, maybe we were wrong on the estimate
on length… we were in a 30 foot boat and all 4 of us thought it
was +/- 1/2 of the boatlength… however… i must in all fairness
point out that none of us does anything for a living that helps us to estimate length…
also, i hate to think that we in fact did release a new record.
but, in all honesty… i think that it would have given the record a
run for it’s money.
