Big Tuna 5-21 (Pictures Added)

Since we are on the subject of Tuna species. Has anyone ever heard of an Allison Tuna, I’ve heard some of the old timers talk about Allison Tuna and I was wondering if it was another name for yellowfin or another species or something.

I also thought that the Big eye had shorter fins than a yellowfin in the large fish. In a fish this size I would think the fins of the yellowfin would comeback farther, which makes me think this is a big eye.

We need to get Tred on the thread.

You are correct sir. An Allison Tuna is a Yellowfin.

We caught this tuna the other day, I am now confused as to the type of this fish. Any opinions?

Blue and White Ilander Jr. on the starboard flatline… Pretty close on everything else. The temp might have been a little higher.
