Cleared the jettys at 5:15 and made our way thru the washing machine to the GTH. Had the usual crew on board BerDickie, Handyman Tom and myself. We got to the hole around 8:00 and began deploying lines. We had an immediate hook up before we got all the lines out, first dolphin of many to come. We trolled out to 645’ and 3 rods go down,3 more dolphin in the box. We worked that spot over for the next 2 hrs putting about 6 or 7 more in the box. We then decided to troll back towards the ledge in hopes of getting in on the BFT bite but, no such luck. When we got to 183’ all 8 rods took off. I forgot to mention that this is the first time we used those bird chain teasers, the ones with 5 or 6 little birds followed by a bigger bird followed by a skirted ballyhoo. The 2 dolphin that bit the teaser lines decided to cross each other and every line in between as fast as they could, and they succeeded. We only went 3 for 8 and spent the next hour and a half untangling, cutting and rerigging those 8 rods. We trolled the rest of the day with only one bird teaser out and VERY close to the boat, hopefully “Spilt Decision” can tell us what we should have done. For the rest of the day we stayed between 140’and 250’ picking up a few more.We don’t know if taking in one bird teaser hurt us or not, but BerDickie wouldn’t let us put it back out. Lines up at 4:30 for the rough ride in but it wasn’t that bad after 8 or 10 miles.
water temp 77.8-78.4
19 dolphin (mostly clean head shots with the gaff)
blue/white islanders caught biggest fish
An hour and a half to rerig 8 rods? Thats over 10 minutes per rod. Was it that rough? Sounds like yall need to stagger your spread a little better.
Sorry FH, I forgot to mention that BerDickie thinks he is the only one capable of rigging bait properly.
But the worst part is the fact that he lost his right thumb to a tiger shark last year and he left his eye glasses at home.

You taught me everything I know about tearing sh%t up! What is the saying “If you are scared to drive it step to the side.” We were running late somebody had to make up for it.

What is the deal with that? You paying Chunky to fish with you? He said he may leave it to the Judge and I. Something about a gentlemen's bet on a fishing tourney. I think we could do that.
