This is our last week of charters for the year until Key West and Mexico. We left the dock at 5:30 to see a nice ocean with a light 1-2 foot chop. The ocean was very green and cold but I pulled it back a few miles past 226. Ten minute in we had the biggest blue I had ever seen try and eat my bridge pole but as she came into eat the bait rolled by her face from the pressure wave. She was easily over 650. We all got to see her come in and show off. Then trolled the are for quite a while before a double of sails came up behind some lures. Hooked both on pitch baits. Ended up jumping one off. Then had a white marlin come into the spread. He window shopped for a bit and then I smacked him on the head with a bridge pole. He turned on and piled on. Caught him. The we had one more sail come in that we couldnt get to eat. We ended the day with some deep drop swordfishing, having one mistery bite. It was a great day having a chance for a slam in Charleston during the cold months.
We will be heading to Isla Mujeres, MX shortly. We have already booked a good many trips from Jan through March. Give me a call if you are interested in double digit sailfishing. It is 1000 bucks cheaper than fishing in Charleston.
tight lines,
