Binocular question

Im in the market for some new binocs as my most recent pair were lost/stolen. I’ve narrowed it down to the meopta meopro 8x42 or the cabelas euro 10x42 ( same as meopta meostar, step up from the meopro). Cabelas are on mad sale right now at 250 off.

I guess the question is is a higher quality 10x binocs for super deal better than a 8x pair for 100 bucks less. I mainly want good low light capability and hunt cutovers and wooded areas (typical sc woods), just looking for some opinions.

Yes, they would be worth it over the 8X. More light gathering at dawn and dusk, more clarity, more magnification etc.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

It’s my understanding that higher magnification equals less low light capability, I’m just wondering if the higher quality glass would make-up for this with the 10X

You’re eyes coupled with the scope cannot process or basically define anything past 5X when you get to a certain amount of light. The larger objective allows more ambient light to enter the lenses giving you a sense of brightness. The Mag factor and clarity comes in when you are trying to pick out that set of antlers in a cornfield or heavy brush. Short of night vision, no set of Bino’s will let you see in the dark, neither will a scope.

might want to look at the Leupold Mojave’s as well. I just picked up a pair and they’re about as good as any glass I’ve seen.
