Anyone know of a good dog trainer? Looking to have my new puppy coming and want him trained to point, flush and retrieve birds.

I wouldn’t train a pointing dog to flush, at least as a young dog.

What breed? If he’s from decent lines and has potential, it might not be too hard to do yourself. A good dog has a lot of it prewired. Get a good book and give it a try. My favorite book, especially for folks who have never trained a dog before, is The Training and Care of the Versatile Hunting Dog. It’s available at navhda.org for $17.50.
