Cruized some of my usual haunts in the poor man’s yacht this past weekend. The big ■■■■■ of seagulls caught my eye up in the corner of the flat where the fish usually start their falling tide migration. Eased up the flat and saw a school of about 50 fish zooming around the flat chasing shrimp and such. There were about 6 or 7 birds hovering in the air right about the school catching the shrimp as they were jumping out of the water trying to get away from the fish. As the school moved the birds hung with them. Tossed a home grown shimp pattern in the midst and it barely made it in the water. Fish on and a bent long rod. Keep and eye out during the fall for those birds, they can clue you in on the fish, especially during the slightly windy days when the fish are a little harder to find. The pattern probably didn’t really matter cause those fish were in super feed mode. Just had to get it in the zone and make it look like it was trying to get away.
