I saw a ton (seriously, it looked like hundreds) of birds hitting the water in the shipping channel just north of the Wando terminal this morning on the way in to work. Any idea what they would be hitting this time of year?
Glass minnows? Not sure, but that would be my guess.
They are dredging there. Yesterday the birds were all around the dredge.

Ahh, ok. I guess the dredging has churned up something they like. I just didn’t think there was a “usual” species of fish out there right now schooling up (like the Menhaden in summer for instance). Thanks.
That darn monkey still makes me laugh! Sometimes it’s the little things in life.
Very possible it was shrimp.
