Ditched work for my Birthday today and hit the upper Wando. Caught a dozen dink trout…but only one went in the freezer. All caught on mud minnows on the incoming tide. Was really nice to get out on the water without my cold water gear for the first time this year.
What I nice way to spend your birthday! Dinks or not, at least you were out there catching! How do trout thaw? I always kind of figured they would be kinda mushy when they thawed out?
I vacuum seal them. Keeps the fillets really fresh.
