Black and Silver Friday Report

Spoonmaster and I had a good day pulling boards, freelines, corks, and downrods uplake today. We caught them in 3-15 feet of water and did not hook up with any shorts until we made a perch jerking stop before heading back to Spoon’s dock. Including one we foul-hooked and released while spoon jerking, we had 11 solid keepers to 28 inches and 18 perch. It was a cold, but nice day on the lake.

It sure was a cold ride this morning! Thank goodness for my “Darth Vader” facemask and ski bibs! What an awesome cold and fun day! Maybe one day I’ll be able to find and catch the striped fish like you can. I’m learning something new every trip.

Nice day. I was going today, but I need Happy Bob to do some work on my boat trailer so I’m carrying it over to him. Hopefully next week I’ll get back on the lake.

Yep. Your Darth Vader mask is a great creation! I was thankful for my new battery-powered gloves on the ride up. Holding onto a stainless steering wheel in sub-freezing temps can be tough. The gloves made it pain-free… Glad you enjoyed it! Trust me, the learning never stops. That’s what I love about striper fishing.

My cousin and I are going out for a couple of hours after lunch Sunday. I’ll post here if we do well. I’d like to see him hook a big striper or catfish on one of my spoon rods. Those big cats really put up a fight!
