Step Brother and I fished down in GA a few days. Bunch of reds, and both punched the black drum ticket! Never caught one of these in Charleston, but they were THICK down around St. Simons. They fight like a diesel truck…

Mine was caught on a tutti-frutti colored clouser. Guide really favored big bushy flies that would push some water, and we not a huge clouser fan. My brother caught his on a fly I tied that we dubbed ‘the raghead’. Basically some feathers + maribou out back and a big blob of wool dubbed in for the head. Olive in color. Strange about those fish- you basically had to drag your fly within about 6 inches of their nose without donking them on the head. They wouldn’t travel too far to get the groceries…
