BLACK SEA BASS REDUCTION THIS WEDNESDAY!!!

The black sea bass bag limit reduction from 15 to 5 fish will go into effect this Wednesday, June 22nd. Despite the reduction, its possible the recreational black sea bass fishery could close again in late 2011 or early 2012 without an increase in the annual catch limit.

Thanks for the post! I just got the email from DNR myself and was going to post it here, but you beat me to the punch.

If I were a betting man, I would wager that we will see another closure. I just hope they stagger it like FL does with Gulf Amaberjack so there is always soemhing worth pursuing out there.

It was real nice for the ocean to get nice and nasty right before the change. From 15 to 5 is a bit drastic and makes offshore seem less and less appealing everyday. Really bummed but arent we all!

We need to get MSA changed. It’s the only thing that will bring this stupidity to an end.

Diving these nearshore sites will reveal tons of 6 - 10 inch bsb’s.
Hard to believe theres a shortage of the little fellas.
