Black sea bass

with all of the changes, closures and various other ways the govt has screwed up our fishing it makes it hard to keep track of the current seasons, size limits and catch limits.

what is the current rules for BSB?

anyone have a reliable site to look at for the info?

we want to go get some reef sheeps and blackfish

Thanks

Took about 2 seconds to search via the Google. Below is specifically for BSB, but the general site has current regulations for other fish as well.

Download “SA Fish Regulations” App on your phone. It is free and they update it daily every time there is a change.

thanks for the help- i’m not a googler and don’t have a smartphone. I had a question cause I heard they raised the limit to 10.

5 per person! THAT IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!

I remember a time or two when trolling didn’t go so good or bottom bumping didn’t go as planned we would at least bring home 30-50 BSB for some table fare.

IMO all BSB are doing is multiplying out of control and devastating other fish species.

I’d love to see a scientific report of the stomach content of 1000 BSB in various size limits. Wonder how many baby grouper, red snapper, … etc… would be found.

Interesting article.
