Hello. I am going to be in St. Helena for July and was thinking about trying to catch some black sea bass. How far off shore or how deep of water do I need to be in to get good quantity of black sea bass?
Thanks!

Fish the outlying smaller structure on reefs 35-65ft, and you should be able to pick out a 5 per person limit of fish in short order. The larger structure gets fished heavily and will not have as many larger fish on it.
Try a white bucktail jig or basically anything white-ish green in color that moves and has a hook…

Phin,
Thanks for the response. I have some bucktail jigs, I will have to try them for the black sea bass. I use to live in Florida and fish for Black Sea Bass using cut squid. I will try both.
Thanks!
Good luck on catching keeper size bass inside of 50’ this time of the year!
