The same source also dictates that "overfishing" is not occuring anymore... Meaning fishing pressure is currently at sustainable levels.

Again, I still wonder why NOAA thinks that it’s not overfished and we are not overfishing…

Prior to the first MPA challenge the enviro groups - PEW and ED exploited and encouraged a split between commercial fishermen and rec’s. This was very successful, and this was the start of closing the ocean. We fishermen - comm & rec catch the same fish . The only rec catch recording I have ever seen was headboat counts. But the One HUGE difference is the fact that every single fish caught by a commercial fisherman is accounted for. The rec catch is only a guess. YFT are following a different pathway. Not just in SC but everywhere. There are limits and restrictions for everything in the water off the US today, and were all fishermen. Don’t s**t in the tent.

I have no problem eating fresh blackfin…

Blackfin have smaller loins - not the big pretty YFT steaks , but eat very well .

No doubt. I just want to know why NOAA and this ORG cannot agree on the same stock status when they both feed from the same trough. That's disturbing to me.

If you really like your cat you’ll feed it fresh blackfin. New business venture for the crazy cat ladies of the world!

I could be wrong but I believe the 2011 ICCAT yellowfin stock assessment was done with data through 2009. The US is only country with a minimum size and recreational creel limit for yellowfin in the Atlantic basin. Even our minimum size is not large enough to allow the fish to spawn once. Don’t forget that ICCAT also manages Bluefin tuna which are overfished and undergoing overfishing by increasing TAC particularly in the Mediterranean for countries like Libya, Ghana, Morocco and Turkey and transferring the US’s unused TAC to Canada and Mexico. That’s why they are sometimes referred to jokingly as the International Commission to Catch All the Tuna. Yellowfin in the Pacific are currently in good shape but don’t worry the international factory fleet will be on them soon enough.

So = where does the pressure come from? The dinner table! The world will seek protein where ever it can be found.

Yes, Charleston is going to be so beautiful when we tap that oil...

They’re going to put the refineries on Daniel Island…you know, class the place up a little bit.

Next time you come in, come heavy, or not at all…

wish that was a scratch and sniff picture… smell that money!

dont worry, they wont put any refineries in charleston. they will get land where it is cheapest.

The target off SC is natural gas… Not crude. Watch what Bo Peterson reports. He spins everything to the left. The enviro left.

Everyone already knows Daniel Island is N. Chucks dredging spoil…
