Blackfish Bank

Hey have any of you guys heard of Blackfish Bank down there in Charleston by the jettys? If so can you inbox me any info about it if you want to be discreet about it…

I seldom fish the Charleston area, but I have been out past the Jetties in 60-100 feet of water and the guy I was with called some live bottom the “Blackfish Banks”. I’ve also heard others refer to scattered patches of live bottom out from the Jetties the “blackfish bank”.

I may be wrong and hopefully someone else will chime it, but I think the blackfish banks are a generic name for live bottom off the Charleston coast. Was on the Thunderstar years ago and that was our destination for bottom dropping. BSB, Snapper, amberjack, shark…

My understanding is the live bottom areas south of the Charleston 60 reef are called the blackfish banks. You can drift the area bouncing the bottom and do pretty good. Not an exact spot but more of a general area.

Any more color on how to find these? We went to the 60 reef and had a blast. This sounds fun also.

Running a 155° heading from the south jetty for approximately 25 miles and you will be smack in the middle of good live bottom also known as the blackfish banks
