Surfing the old interweb (as Richard Rawlings calls it) and came across this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0084EHM00/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have looked at his inshore spinning rods at Dick’s for about $100 and, other than the color, they seem like decent rods. These rods on Amazon are offshore spinning rods, but at about half price, this seems like a good deal. Anybody got any experience with them?

here’s a good read on them. General consensus is to stay away.

Thanks for the thread. I read it all and even though it is almost 2 years old and most were talking about his inshore rods, I would probably agree to stay away. I am sure that the construction techniques and materials are similar/same between the inshore and offshore rods. Also doubt that much has changed in the past 2 years since that thread started. BUT, someone thinks that this is a good deal because when I found them on Amazon at half price a few days ago, there were 7 available and as of this posting, there’s only 1 left.

Did you order the last one? I almost got it yesterday. But I don’t really “need” one. I have one heavy rod(Penn 6000) that I never use.
I’m curious about the quality myself.

No, I didn’t. But at about half the price of anywhere else, though, I really thought about it.
