Blank Center Consoles

I’m going to restore a boat this winter, and instead of repairing 20 years of holes in the console I thought about just starting fresh. But online selection of sizes and things to look at are slim at best…

Any suggestions? Where to look?

Thanks

I redid mine, lamanated 1/4" starboard on all the front panel areas! Re drilled new holes and all worked well. You might need to add some backer.

Try the local manufacturers like scout, sportsman, key west, etc. up on 78. They may sell you a blank one.

Talk to Ben. He just completed his restore on his console and turned out great! He’s got a full wood shop and all.

Leadenwahboy, if you need it for one of your Bentz-Crafts, Ulmer Boatworks is building the same console.

Unfortunately, I don’t think they’re doing any parts for the flats boats…which Robert only built 3 of. I will ping them again and see, but I don’t think Robert even built these consoles, if I remember correctly they were taken from a different style of boat.

I’m quite capable, and debated doing myself, but I don’t want to. I’ll have enough work handling bottom paint and repairs and topside paint. I’d rather start fresh on a console. This one has DOZENS of screw holes, and some large holes in the wood sandwich area that would require a lot of work that I’m not excited about.

I don’t have the measurements on hand, but here’s an old shot.

I was told they didn’t have the mold, but I sent them a message anyway to confirm.

Go to shipshape tv.com. They had a company on their show last week that sells blank consoles cheap

DWB; I think that was Marine Surplus.

Marine Surplus like tanksgt said .

Thanks guys.

I did get a hold of Mr. Ulmer who is building the boats again. He DOES have the mold, and is going to build me a console in the future.

Can’t wait to start gathering parts to redo this thing.

Awesome.

A little bit harder to come by that smaller size, but know of where some could be if it doesn’t pan out. Just let me know.
