In case the people I am talking about are on CF, I wanted to access the road into my favorite turkey hunting spot near Blacks Camp but two vehicles chose to park in the middle of the one lane road with no way to get around them. The road goes back in the woods for several miles but they were parked just a hundred yards from the entrance. I waited a bit, didn’t see anyone, and resisted the temptation to blow my horn then backed out and went somewhere else. If this was you, did you think you had the right to block off that entire area just for yourself? I would have gladly gotten as far away from you as I could, would have gone to the end three miles further down the road.
Call DNR next time. It’s illegal to block any road on WMA, even if the road is gated you can not park in any way that blocks access to the gate.
I was trying to get away from the madhouse on the water on the weekends and instead got blocked out of a big hunting area by some people who felt entitled to claim the entire area as their own. I worked over twenty five years with only two weekends a year off and now I’m retired, so I’m used to doing my fishing during the week, gonna do the same hunting I guess. I will have one more chance before turkey season ends. I’ve passed on several young males, have seen a lot of hens, learned a lot, and will move on.
If hunting WMA it is a good idea to have a plan B and C ready in the morning.
My first thought would be “Can I push their truck off the road with my truck?”
Second thought would be to blow horn and fire a couple shots. Third thought would be to call DNR and ask if they can call a tow truck.
fourth thought would be to park my truck so they could not get out and call uber and go have a beer:imp:
Hunting, fishing, and poker are my sports. Work when necessary.
The plan B and plan C idea is one thing but what if you wanted to go fishing? If someone is in your favorite spot you go someplace else but what if they left there truck and trailer parked on the only boat ramp so no one else could fish that lake?
good example MD

4wd, winches, and tow straps are wonderful things
Valve Stem tool… I would leave them in a baggie tied to the antenna. They aren’t hard to get back in, but getting them in with all the air behind them… that’s a pain in the ass.

Politicians and diapers must be changed often, and for the same reason.
why did you not just park and walk in. a couple of miles is not that far when turkey hunting.
Could have gone to blacks and borrowed a backhoe and dug out the road!
flyinghigh, I’m somewhat limited because of an artificial heart valve and some walking issues from breaking both femurs a few years ago. I wish I could walk for miles but a few hundred yards is about all I can handle. I’m over being upset but still amazed that they would just assume either no one would come down the road or just didn’t give a (**()
Flying - Hmmmmmm Only the person that parked there like that would say what you suggested.
If someone ruined my day, especially if I had my son with me,they would be in trouble.

quote:sorry Partner it wasn't me blocking the road. I do hunt WMA land exclusively when turkey hunting though. That is just something you deal with, that and people walking in on you. Besides the fact that all of the ideas given by you and the others were a bit more destructive than someone supposedly "blocking" the rd.. Being so concerned about this guys place to hunt maybe you could offer him a spot in the blind with you and your son and he could ambush one tomorrow.

Good point flying. I’ll offer my place to him today.

didn’t mean to start an argument, I’m always respectful of others but of course have learned that doesn’t apply to a lot of others, no big deal. Gonna try one more time with a plan A, B, C, and then give it up for the season and go back to fishing
MD did you get my email offering you my place tomorrow

He has a better chance of killing a turkey on the blocked road than in the blind with those 2 knuckle heads!
I figured as much.
