Where can I buy blue crabs for bait? I know Crosby’s used to have them but do they still have them?

Capt Don’s seafood on 17 in west ashley sells crabs for $13/dozen($1.08 per crab) vs $2 per crab from Hadrell’s. You could always freeze what you don’t use for another day and save almost a dollar per crab.
For that money over the year just buy a crabpot

Heard dons will give you frozen dead crabs free. Haven’t asked yet but reliable sources!
If you come across a crabber they will usually sell them for anywere from 1 - 2 bucks each right out the trap. Crosbys carries frozen ones only usually. Leave early enough get one of those cheap drop nets pull up next to the closest bridge put peice of chix or cutup bait let it sit ten mins or so and pull it up

Where do you work sellsfish? I’m only looking for dead crabs. I don’t need to pay a lot of money for live crabs when I’m just gonna cut them up and kill them anyway.

fargo, i just stopped at a local fish market, they were happy to unload freshly dead crabs for free.
If U go every 2 days or so w/ in DNR ‘spec’ times…just go w/ a crab pot, they’ll always be waiting for ya. Your bait could be Chix, or some fish heads from prev. trips, etc once started to save add’l costs.
