I have a buddy that captains a freighter. He called me last night and said that when they were leaving Chas harbor yesterday (Sat 1/17) on an ESE (approx 105) heading, they went through a very large school of very large BFT with a large bunch of birds on them about 30 nautical miles off the C buoy. He said that some of the large ones were completely out of the water and popping like skipjack. Maybe the cold snap isn’t all bad!
I little to far out for me to go, But I know that is one fish I would love to bring in.

Moonshadow did your friend say what water temp they were hanging out in? And were there any temp breaks around them?

IF YOUR FRIEND IS NOT PULLING THE WOOL OVER YOUR EYES, JUST EAST OF THE NOAA BUOY IN 135 ABOUT 40 MILES OUT. PLOTTED ON GARMIN SOFTWARE, NOT SURE WHY HE JUST DID NOT SAY, JUST OUTSIDE THE NOAA BUOY.
