Blue hound

One of my hounds hates storms, and if I don’t bring her in fast enough she will escape the fence by any means necessary.

Twice this week she came home blue. No smell, and it washes off with some dish soap.

Any ideas on where she’s going? I figure she hates water, so I know she isn’t swimming.

I’m going to try to attach a video.

septic

I figured it could be something like that, except no smell. I’m building a prison grade fence this weekend with hopes of keeping her in.

Very odd. Any possibility of Indigo plants around. Used to be a lot of them, not many now, but they were used for blue dye and many grow wild.

My dog doesn’t like thunder either, but I don’t fence him and I let him inside the house in storms. He’s never come home blue. Yet.

That’s really weird. I don’t even have a guess. … she’s only doing it when it storms? I’m not really familiar with septic systems but wouldn’t there be a problem if the blue chemical was leaching into the wet ground the dog was running through?

Our place backs up against a cypress swamp, and it was a plantation a long long time ago. There is indigo in the swamp, but I don’t know if she would want to be in that swamp with the water high like it is.

That’s a possibility though. It makes me want to go get out some bug spray and boots and walk back there for a look.

Still might be septic, but that’s usually a smelly experience.

You would smell it if it’s septic. My bet is indigo.

She might have gotten into some pokeweed.

Almost looks like that fertilizer they put down in new developments when spraying grass.

Doesn’t clay turn blue on the sidewalls of your tires sometimes? Maybe its that.
