The age old adage is Green lenses for inshore and blue lenses for offshore, when do we switch from green to blue? 2 mile line? 10 miles?

Down here is where a signature goes but they can confuse and anger some people so I don’t have one.

Blue all the time. Green is so 2011.
Orange works best in most of the waters I fish in these days. It doesn’t matter if you cut the glare or not, you still can’t see more than 6 inches down anyway.

I also like orange/ yellowish for fishing. Works well in low light/ cloudy times too.
I have a pair of Maui Jims with the Gray lenses that make me feel like it is about to rain no matter the conditions.

I have found the amber “green reflective” color makes fish colors “pop” on sunny days off shore. The gray “blue reflective” just simply cuts a little glare and makes it easier to see. For me its grey inshore or driving around town and amber offshore. The best I have ever seen was yellow “shooting” glasses for offshore but the brightness gave me a headache after awhile. Costa used to sell a yellow offshore pair of polarized sunglasses.

I can almost see what you did there…
Anyone tried the Wiley X glasses yet? Thinking about giving them a go on my next pair, they have a blue/green lens, reckon you can wear them in- and offshore without having to swap shades.

I wear those High Def glasses from the infomercials. I hear they are releasing the Ultra HD soon.

For a lot of dudes that go “fishing” does it really matter? At the end of the day these are what they are wearin’ anyways…
The best inshore glasses Ive used have been brown or amber lenses. It really helps see fish in the creeks and marsh.
So nobody has tried the Wiley X glasses…I’m more concerned with quality, comfort, and warranty than color though…reckon I will be the guinea pig and try some this summer!

I have some costa 580glass with green mirror front and copper back. They are amazing. From all the reading I have done as well, green mirror is best for use in both inshore and offshore. If gearing for solely offshore blue is considered the best. Inshore the green.
I had a pair of Wiley X and they were the worst sunglasses ive ever owned. I got them bc they were approved for wear in the military, but the lenses would scuff up so bad that they were unusable in just a few months
580 green glass mirror past 8 AM (inshore or offshore). If early, cloudy, or rain, 580 amber. Best I’ve found.
