Blue Marlin 4/23

Left Shem Creek dock at 4am for a smooth ride out on friday. Headed south started trolling in 300ft picked up two mahi within 10 minutes. Trolled out towards 226 found a confused weedline and trolled around it for a couple of hours the temp was 72. Picked up two more mahi and a mystery fish that hit the 50w long rigger and bent my outrigger and the hook before spitting the hook.

Turned towards shallower water in the afternoon when a blue sneaks up on us hammers my teaser then proceeds to take every bait we were dragging. We hook him up on the way back rod and the fight was on. We chased after him for 20 minutes to keep from dumping all the line. He lasted a good hour before we touched leader then got our tackle back out of his mouth. We revived him for a few minutes and let him go. We later measured how big he was from the side of the boat. He was 7ft from mouth to fork in the tail overall he was 8.5ft. Awesome day especially for the guys on the boat who have never seen a blue marlin.

nice work on the blue one.

Great Job! I sure hope to see one beside my boat this summer! We were north of you friday. The water temp there was from 72 - 75.1 degrees. We worked a broken weed line too.

A blue in green water. Nice.

haha the sad thing is you’re not kidding. Guatemala must be nice. And goods things CAN happen with Kevin onboard, but you have to take the good with the bad. Right shark-bait?

x2. one more about an hour after the first…

Where can I get me some shorts like the dude on the left? Can I cut a pair of jeans that short and be equally as cool?

Good job on the blue. A great way to get the trolling started.

What you have here is an optical illusion. Due to the angle you had while checking out this fisherman’s ass, you assumed he had short shorts. The first picture shows his britches without the angle. Enjoy.

the duckcommander must of been staring at my ass real hard to notice somthing like that…ill take it as a compliment

You can fish on my boat any time dumpy.
