When there is a Small Craft given, the tournament should have been rescheduled or refunded. The fact is that in 6ft sea with 23’ boat there is no “Captain’s Choice” mother nature has made the choice for me. Unless these tournament directors & SKA only want big boat to fish there tournaments then this rule should change.
saw that storm on the XM weather while we where working on the boat, that storm was 17 miles off shore all the way out to 92 miles and stretched the entire coast of sc…
we all looked at it and said glad were not in that…
we fished that day it wasnt too bad only near under the storm no reason for the touny to be cancled we were just fun fishing and stayed after 10am it was perfect
The Jupiter did sink in Savannah Inlet but not due to the storm…I
understand they were taking on water below the water line and all got off safely. Carolina Boy, I don’t know where you were fishing but everone in tournament swears it was 4 to 6 all day including us. One boat was hit by lightning at Edisto 60 but got home. Bigger boats certainly had the advantage. Just look at the 47 Cabo that took 9th place. We were fishing 32’ and were taking it over the bow whenever we put into it. Tournament fishing is about fun and it’s hard to find anyone who had fun on Saturday but after 37 beers, it beat the hell out of some other tournaments that don’t allow adult beverages don’t it.
It should have been canceled or at least moved to sunday i was up north fishin the tournament and 5 ft stack tight with a seven ft mixed evry once in a while ended the day with no fish but still healthy and nothin broken but my pride, thank you lord.
