boar down

This sucker made the mistake of rooting in my yard couple weeks ago. As soon as turkey season was over I picked up a bag of corn and set up the camera at the back of my property. This guy came every evening until last Sunday. Set up a climber and waited for the north wind. He came right around 7:45pm. I put a bullet right behind his ear. First hog I’ve been able to get a shot at in a few years. They come and go through the swamp occasionally. I’d guess he’s around 200lbs, possibly more. He was not easy to move.

good to hear someone shooting something. congrats.

Hunting, fishing, and poker are my sports. Work when necessary.

Do you not have any others on the camera. I would find it hard to believe that he’s the only one hanging around. Keep killing.

He was the only one on camera. Had a couple monsters on camera a couple years ago, but they wouldnt come til after dark.

I feel that this pig may be a stoner with that red dye in it’s hair…stone cold!!! Hope you had a portable A/C unit in the climber with you seeing that you had a workout already planned out for the daily drag! Great shot and nothing is finer than busting heads in Carolina!

That hog has some fat! he must have been finding plenty of food!

A boar will sometimes become a loner if he has a good food source., perfect BBQ size

Frac - what kind of rifle you shooting there? I got a Mod1500 .270 S&W that looks just like. Howa made them for S&W and Mossburg and I think some of the lower grade Weatherbees. It is a sweet shooter. Good job on porky!
