Boat Ad Grady White Tournament 22ft

Help, I have had my boat listed for a couple of weeks with no response. Could you please give opinion/recommendation on ad and/or boat? Pictures are available on ad. Thanks

From someone searching for a new boat…and PLEASE don’t take this as a personal attack on you or your boat. I’m just giving you my perspective.

  1. Dual consoles aren’t that popular around here. 2) It’s an 18 year old boat that’s full of wood and has a rebuilt 2-stroke gas guzzler. 3) It will take $550 plus oil at $20-30/gallon to fill an empty tank & reservoir (figure $650). It will burn nearly 100 gallons on a trip to the ledge and back.

Compare that to the boat I just sold that was an ‘06 22’ wood-free center console with a 200 HP 4-stroke that had zero problems, documentation of all service since new and only burned 45-50 gal. going to the ledge and back. Selling price was less than 10% more than what you are asking.

I will add to what Loosewire said:

I got my '05 boat two years ago for a couple thousand more than you are asking. It’s a tad bigger, again, no wood, had 135 hours on a Yamaha 225 four-stroke, and had more “ammenities”…

Yes, yours IS a Grady, and they often bring a premium, but in today’s market…well, it AIN’T a seller’s market right now. With fuel prices the way they are, newer, more modern boats are FLOODING the market.

Good luck on the sale, though! Someone, somewhere, is seeking that boat.

Have you posted on www.thehulltruth.com ? They MOVE some boats over there!!!

also keep in mind that financing a boat older than 10 years is difficult at best. so that narrows your market even further to just cash buyers.

of course if you REALLY want to sell it… the one variable you can change is the price. though, it actually does not seem overpriced, i think it just blends into the landscape of older boats and really does not have anything to set it apart. being a dual console does not help either.

just my opinion of course

Mr. C according to NADA your boats “average retail” is around $10k, again thats average retail.

'93 hull- $7315
'93 evin- $1060
‘93 26’ tandem axle trailer (guessing thats about what you have) $1370

Understand that most boat buyers view a “rebuilt” outboard as a ticking time bomb. I personally wouldn’t buy one and if I did it would have to be because I was getting the hull for a steal.

My brother bought a ‘04 22’ Grady cc last summer for I think $24K and that’s 11 yrs newer with a much more fuel efficient 150 hp Yamaha 4 stroke. Only thing he had to add was a t-top, it came with everything else.

Good luck selling the boat!
