Boat electronics questions

I just got a project 14’ Malibou and I’m doing all sorts of work to it. I want to install a radio and depth finder and I have a few questions. It’s an electric start 35 hp Johnson so I know I should get a cranking battery.

-Could I hook the radio and depth finder up to it as well? If I do, will they drain the battery quickly?

-Is a cranking battery the best choice of should I go with a deep cycle for this application?

-If they do drain the battery, will running the motor recharge the battery(kinda like the alternator in my truck)?

-I hope to have two speakers for the radio, one mounted in the casting deck pointed to the stern and one in the bench seat in the back pointed towards the bow. Will two 6 1/2" speakers be enough or should I bump up to two 6x9" speakers?

Every piece of tail you turn down is a piece of tail you didn’t get.

Go with a single cranking batt., hook radio and D/S to it. Motor should charge batt., not 100% sure on that model tho, but more then likely it does.

I have the same setup currently. Radio, VHF, sounder/GPS, and 2 6.5’ speakers. Single cranking battery is more than enough to keep it all going. Going on 5 yrs now and battery still tests well. Get a quality brand of 6.5" and you’ll be fine with that setup. I have the infinity 6.5 and they are clearly audible and loud when at speed w/ a 2 stroke

single cranking battery would be fine
a deepcycle battery would also work fine.
that motor only charges at 6 amps i believe, which is fine for a deepcycle, and the motor also doesnt need the high cranking amps of a starting battery, so either way, it will be fine.
