North Up OR Heading UP
???
I like the north up. Don’t like the spinning of the screen at all.
Surely others will reply with other opinions…

For inshore heading up just makes the most since to me.
I could see North up for offshore.

In the little boat, big boat, or truck?
In the little boat like traveling the ICW or unfamiliar water I like course up.
In the big boat with no landmarks I like North Up
In the truck I like course up.
What about you?
Heading Up when running
North UP when drifting bottom.
Usually South to North drift…
My cat drifts side to…Bertram drifted stern to…
Always learning…mental gymnastics.
Cats are definitely different.
The reason for Heading Up when running…checking against compass…it doesn’t use electricity.
Started with a Meico loran…tune it while running…life is soooo much easier now.
You gots to love the new stuff. I imagine you been running around there for a while. Makes it safer and more efficient…if it’s working.
Noticed one of your trouts had a bite out of it…hungry tuna fusherman???
Thanks for posting. Beautiful trouts.

I was lucky with that trout in the photo with its tail bitten off by a shark. I lost four more where the sharks took ALL of the fish. I had several on my stringer when I was wade fishing and a shark nearly jerked me down when it grabbed the fish on my stringer. It’s a regular occurrence, but it’s still a bit unsettling when I’m in waist deep water and sharks are eating trout off my stringer.
I use heading up when running marshes and near shore with lots of landmarks in tight places. I use North Up when I’m trying to anchor over a specific waypoint where I’ve marked bottom structure, especially when there are not landmarks nearby.Noticed one of your trouts had a bite out of it…hungry tuna fusherman???

North up.
You find things offensive. I find things funny. That's why I'm happier than you.
