Boat Landing Question

Any advice on the ramp at Cherry Grove near the swing bridge? Had problems with the current ripping last week. Made loading the boat a bear. We were on the beach side.

Anyone know if the current is less on the main land side? Are there any other public landings? I know about the one at 53rd ave on CG Beach.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Ramps under the bridge can be tricky sometimes, depending upon tide, wind and current. Experience is a great asset, but of course that comes with time.
Ramp on the beach side is dangerious because of rocks near the nothern side of the ramp.
The mainland side has safer water, but is often tied up with too many boaters. Ramps on the mainland side are much rougher, potholes, ect.
In any event just be happy we do not have to pay $10.00 to launch as most nothern ramps charge.
There is a pay to use ramp at Poo’s but there is very shallow water at low tide.
have fun, keep your rod tip up…

I like the mainland side better as well.

“Thar She blows”

We decided to try the mainland side next time we put in. We said that we could handline the boat part way on the trailer easier there. Then power it the rest of the way. It looks like you have more room and that there may be a little less rip because of the courtesy dock. Thanks for the input!

Hav’ta to learn to use the tide in your favor and hit the trailer in one shot. The mainland side gets my vote too.
