ALright, have had a small boat leak for a bit now that has me quite perplexed. the leak was recently compounded cause float when out and swamped the batteries but that aside there is a slow leak that normally the bilge and float take care of over time but cant seem to figure where leak could be coming from. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to trouble shoot. no obvious holes in the hull but i have noticed when we fish live bait that when my live wells are running my bilges tend to be working a lot more than when they are not runnning. My thought is that maybe a crack in one of the hoses etc, but dont understand why or how that would leak if when sitting in the water and not on that it would draw water. the boat is a 28 ft cc with two live wells, fresh watre washdown, salt watre washdown etc pretty typical center console any insight or help would be appreciated. Also just in case not assumed but boat stays in a slip all the time
the boat is a triton 2895 center console
It’s really hard to track down. The only way I can see resolving it is to get all the water out of your boat and put it in the water. I had a bass boat a few years ago and one of the thru hull barbed fittings leaked (it was cracked). You’ll have to inspect all the thru hull fittings while your boat is in the water and also while running your various pumps. It’s hard to run down slow leaks. I don’t believe that I have any leaks in my boat but there is always water that comes out when I remove my plug, not alot - just a little. It could be from spray of a wave or even a soaked anchor line while piled in the locker. Check your fittings good. ???

As Superfly said, check ALL the thru-hull fittings first. Try shutting off all the gate valves for the pumps, if it still leaks, it is prob. a fitting. Can you pull her out on the trailer and inspect the hull?

Hey,
Check the livewell/baitwell hoses and fittings inside the hull. I’ve seen bass boats fill fast when a hose burst or comes off a fitting.
Also check the fitting for the bilge drain plug. It could be comimg loose and leaking around that.
